Autopoiesis Sciences: Research breakthrough in model reasoning and new funding led by Informed Ventures
Sunny Kumar is a Partner at Informed Ventures, where he invests in early-stage enterprise companies deploying emerging technologies to transform healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.
A Stanford-trained physician, Sunny has dedicated his career to bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world impact. His pioneering work at the intersection of informatics, artificial intelligence, and translational medicine—particularly in neurosurgery and gene therapy—has shaped innovations with the potential to change lives. Recognizing that breakthroughs in the lab must reach the people who need them most, he launched multiple startups during and after his MBA at Stanford. Most recently, he founded a company leveraging voice-enabled natural language processing to help reduce hospital readmissions for high-risk patients with chronic diseases.
Today, Sunny partners with visionary founders using AI to drive meaningful efficiency gains across enterprise healthcare with the goal of greatly improving the quality of care received by patients. With extensive experience in scaling companies from initial traction to hundreds of millions in revenue, he is passionate about supporting teams through the challenges and opportunities of scaling operations.
Outside of investing, Sunny enjoys mentoring students through the Urban Debate League, pushing himself to tackle more challenging ski slopes, and curating a collection of single malts.
